Apple:
Redesigning the Explore App

Interaction Design Intern, Marcom
June-Sept 2022

In collaboration with Richa Krishna
Advised by Amarides Montgomery

Through a structured 5-week design sprint, I collaborated with designers to uplift components of the Explore app for the iPhone, and come up with fresh ideas for the iPad. Our goal was to create a library of components that could be used to make the content more engaging and digestible for shoppers.

After narrowing down on the most successful designs, we began prototyping them in Principle to bring them to life. We had to take timing into consideration, since many shoppers tend to leave the device after one or two interactions, so we had to ensure the app returned to an appropriate landing page, ready to greet the next shopper.

We complied all our designs and prototypes into a Keynote, which we presented to the Marcom team in Austin, and the Explore design team in California. Both presentations were  successful and we recieved a lot of constructive feedback. The design team in California will carry forward our explorations and we look forward to see them slowly come to life in Apple stores in the next few years!
