HAPPNING*

UX and Brand Identity of a new Social Event Planning App

2024

Happning* offers a new way to plan events, send invites, and discover new events around you. It was conceptualized and brought to life by Jad, Luc, and Zane.

1. VISUAL DIRECTION

I began the process by fleshing out three visual directions and presenting them to the founders. We decided on a bold, clean aesthetic focused on typography and a strong accent color. We also decided to incorporate elements from each direction into the final design, such as the prioritized view of people attending the events, and the loading animation.

2. BRAND ELEMENTS

For the brand elements, I curated a playground of icons that could be used across different scenarios. The goal was to ensure they were clear, yet had a human and playful touch. I also explored the idea of a five-point asterisk as the logo, as its dynamic form brought energy and excitement to the otherwise very grounded logotype.

3. USER EXPERIENCE AND FUNCTIONALITY

We spent three weeks mapping out the app's functionality while simultaneously building out UX flows and refining icons and interactions. Our goal was to simplify the user experience as much as possible without compromising on the core features.

4. HIGH FIDELITY WIREFRAMES

Finally, we brought everything together to create high-fidelity wireframes, which I then handed off to the developers.
