desi–gned is New England's first publication for the South Asian diaspora: a compilation of the living archives of ingenious craftsmanship, subaltern histories, and current contemplations, of untold stories that need to be shared.
















DESIGN SYSTEM

Designing the publication involved deciding upon a typography scheme, color palette, and a grid system that felt cohesive whilst allowing each article to have its own voice. To help establish a visual identity that would live beyond the publication, we designed a logotype and motif that were inspired by South Asian heritage.





















LAUNCH EVENT

On the 13th of April, desi-gned was launched at the Grand Gallery in the RISD Museum of Art. We celebrated the launch with over 200 people, including professors from Brown and RISD, museum curators, and beloved friends and peers. During the launch we distributed 160 copies, and have delivered the remaining copies to libraries in and around Providence, Dubai and India.








The suite of material to advertise the launch of the publication included Instagram posts and stories, stickers, nametags, email banners, and posters.
